We need dependable, safety-focused Class A or B Dump Truck Drivers for full-time or part-time work hauling crushed rock, gravel, sand, fill dirt, and construction materials between staging areas and job sites across Middle Tennessee. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate and maneuver Class A or B dump trucks to transport construction materials, crushed rock, sand, gravel, and dirt to and from specified job sites. Verify the type of material being transported and ensure loads do not exceed legal weight restrictions. Load and unload materials efficiently, ensuring proper distribution and securing of the load; apply tarp as required. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle. All safety items must be noted and communicated for repair if necessary, including the engine compartment. Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and site-specific rules while operating the dump truck. Operate safely en route to job site, on job site, and returning to home base, following all posted safety guidelines. Maintain effective communication with construction site supervisors and other team members to coordinate material deliveries and pickups. Maintain accurate records of loads delivered, mileage, weight tickets, and delivery paperwork; ensure all paperwork is signed and turned in at the end of each shift. Must maintain a valid CDL License as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Perform routine maintenance checks on the dump truck, including fluid levels and tire pressure, and ensure overall vehicle functionality. Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle; use tools to clean out any remaining material after dumping. Address and resolve any issues that arise during transportation (traffic delays, mechanical concerns) while keeping supervisors informed.
REQUIREMENTS
Required:
Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL (Commercial Driver's License). Clean MVR (motor vehicle record) — no DUI/DWI; no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years. Availability to pass a background check. Strong time management skills and ability to meet delivery schedules reliably. Ability to safely operate on active construction sites. Willingness to work early morning start times (typical 6:00-6:30 AM). Preferred (not required): 1+ year of dump truck experience in a construction environment (preferred, not required). Familiarity with Middle Tennessee roads and job site protocols. Experience hauling aggregate, dirt, gravel, and asphalt materials.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Visual acuity to follow hand signals, maintain logs, and inspect and maintain machinery; regular use of eyes and mirrors/backup camera. Active, physical work involving lifting (50+ lbs), carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, and reaching on an occasional basis. Frequently walking, standing, driving, and operating equipment for extended periods. Requires focus adjustment, depth perception, and clear close/distant vision. Regular use of hands to finger, handle, feel, and operate controls, tools, and objects. Must be able to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold temperatures.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Pay:
$21.00 and up per hour, based on experience and driving record. Overtime pay at 1.5x for hours over 40/week. Medical, dental, and vision insurance. Paid time off and paid holidays.
