A utility position usually stays out a minimum of 2 weeks at a time. They will start up new accounts, train new drivers and fill in for drivers out on APL. In order to qualify for the $2,000 per week salary a driver must have "X" endorsement (or willing to get), TWIC (or willing to get) and willingness to operate dry van, flatbed, end dump, roll off, logging trailer, yard spotter or any other equipment Jones hauls. Training will be given on all pieces of equipment. If they do not have X endorsement and/or TWIC when hired then the salary is reduced by $100 per week per endorsement. Once they obtain one or both then the pay will be increased. Drivers can live near any Jones terminal in the South (Shelbyville, TN; Jackson, TN; Loudon, TN; Columbus, MS).
