Job Description

Sun Transportation Systems (STS) is hiring a results-driven CDL Driver Recruiter to support the growth of our nationwide fleet. This role combines driver recruiting, onboarding, and training , making it ideal for someone who understands both driver mindset and DOT compliance. You will play a key role in attracting, onboarding, and developing professional drivers while ensuring safety, retention, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruiting & Hiring Source, recruit, and onboard company drivers and owner-operators Conduct phone screenings, interviews, and hiring decisions Develop recruiting strategies (Indeed, job boards, social media, referrals) Promote STS to attract high-quality drivers Training & Driver Development Conduct new driver orientation and onboarding Perform road tests and OTR evaluations (when required) Train drivers on company policies, safety, and ELD usage Support new hires during onboarding and transition to dispatch Compliance & Operations Ensure compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations Maintain accurate driver qualification files Monitor driver performance using ELD systems (Samsara preferred) Work with dispatch and planning teams to forecast hiring needs Retention & Performance Build driver retention programs and engagement strategies Track KPIs (cost per hire, time to hire, turnover rate) Address driver concerns and improve satisfaction

Qualifications:
Required:

1+ year experience in driver recruiting OR trucking industry Strong knowledge of

DOT/FMCSA

regulations Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Preferred (Strong Assets): Experience as a CDL driver or driver trainer Experience with Samsara ELD Experience conducting road tests or OTR evaluations Class A CDL (not required but highly preferred)
