Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Commercial Truck Driver to transport live poultry from our hatchery to farms and other locations. This position involves primarily local driving, with occasional longer or out-of-state trips based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate a commercial tractor-trailer to transport live poultry.
Load, unload, and safely handle live birds during transportation.
Monitor and properly care for poultry while on the road.
Drive primarily local routes, including rural roads and remote farm locations.
Communicate professionally with customers, farm personnel, and the hatchery team.
Perform pre-trip and safety inspections before operating the vehicle.
Properly secure loads and ensure safe transportation.
Maintain accurate trip, time, weight, and equipment records.
Keep the truck and equipment clean and report any maintenance or safety issues.
Follow all DOT, company, state, and federal safety regulations.
Work independently while staying in communication with the transportation team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Previous tractor-trailer or commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to safely handle and transport live poultry.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Ability to navigate rural roads and remote locations.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and follow established procedures. This is a direct hire opportunity. The selected candidate will be employed directly by our client.
