Full Job Description Summary/Objective:
Venus Construction is hiring an experienced CDL Heavy Haul Truck Driver to safely transport oversized and overweight loads, including heavy equipment and machinery, to job sites. This role requires strict adherence to DOT and Texas state regulations, load securement expertise, and a strong commitment to safety in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Operate and drive heavy haul trucks to transport large construction equipment and materials. Secure and properly distribute loads to comply with weight restrictions and DOT and Texas state regulations. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operating conditions. Maintain accurate logs of working hours, vehicle maintenance, and material deliveries. Plan routes considering height, weight, and width restrictions to ensure safe and legal transport. Assist with loading and unloading equipment as needed. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, project managers, and site supervisors. Perform routine maintenance and report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team. Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to minimize risks on job sites.
Qualifications:
Valid Class A CDL license with a clean driving record. Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy haul trucks in a construction or similar environment. Knowledge of DOT and Texas state regulations regarding oversized and overweight loads. Experience hauling large construction equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and trenchers. Ability to operate manual 18 speed transmissions. Air Brake Endorsement required if the truck is equipped with air brakes. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs. Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed. Pay:
