Full-Time Job Summary The CDL Class A Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of commercial motor vehicles in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This position involves transporting materials, equipment, and/or goods between job sites, vendors, and company locations. The role may require extended out-of-town travel and overnight stays for prolonged periods. The driver is expected to maintain accurate records, follow company safety policies, and support operational needs as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate Class A commercial motor vehicles in compliance with DOT, FMCSA, State of Texas, and local regulations. Transport materials, equipment, or goods between job sites, vendors, and company facilities, including long-distance and out-of-town assignments. Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections; identify and report mechanical issues, damage, or safety concerns immediately. Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery tickets, timesheets, inspection reports, and all other required documentation. Properly secure loads to prevent shifting, damage, or safety hazards during transport. Communicate effectively with office staff, supervisors, and customers regarding schedules, deliveries, delays, and route changes. Follow all company safety policies, incident reporting procedures, and equipment handling requirements. Assist with loading and unloading materials when required. Maintain a clean, safe, and professional appearance of assigned vehicles, equipment, and work areas at all times. Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements. Two (2) or more years of verifiable Class A driving experience preferred. Ability to meet all DOT medical certification requirements. Clean driving record and ability to meet company and insurance eligibility standards. Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and Texas transportation regulations. Willingness and ability to travel and remain out of town for extended periods as required by job assignments. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently. Dependable, punctual, and safety-oriented. DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing This position is classified as safety-sensitive and is subject to all applicable DOT and FMCSA drug and alcohol testing requirements, including but not limited to: Pre-employment testing Random testing Reasonable suspicion testing Post-accident testing Return-to-duty and follow-up testing Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all required DOT drug and alcohol testing and ongoing compliance with company and regulatory policies. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a commercial motor vehicle. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials as required (up to 50 lbs., as applicable). Ability to climb in and out of trucks, trailers, and equipment. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and job site environments
