Full Job Description Job Summary:
Peak Trailer Group in San Antonio is seeking a full-time CDL to help us provide excellent service to our great customers. We are seeking a skilled and reliable CDL Driver responsible for safely operating a large commercial vehicle, like a tractor-trailer, to transport Semi-Trailers to and from designated Customer locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations, while maintaining accurate paperwork and performing pre-trip inspections on their vehicle. Position requiring a valid CDL license to operate such heavy machinery. Key responsibilities of a CDL driver may include: Operating commercial vehicles: Driving tractor-trailers, box trucks, or other specified vehicles depending on the job.
Route planning and navigation:
Following designated routes and adhering to delivery schedules Pre-trip and post-trip inspections: Thoroughly checking the vehicle for mechanical issues before and after each trip, documenting any problems Paperwork and logs: Maintaining accurate driving logs, completing delivery paperwork, and reporting incidents to dispatch Compliance with regulations: Adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, including hours of service and weight limits Customer service: Interacting with clients at delivery points, ensuring proper delivery procedures Communication with dispatch: Maintaining contact with dispatch to receive updates and report any issues Required qualifications for a CDL driver: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements depending on the type of vehicle operated Clean driving record Physical ability to handle demanding driving conditions Strong mechanical aptitude for basic vehicle maintenance checks Excellent communication skills to interact with dispatch and customers Different types of CDL driver roles may include: Local delivery driver: Making deliveries within a smaller radius, typically with shorter trips If you meet the requirements for this position and are interested in joining our team as a Truck Driver, please contact our Parts & Service manager - Mike Samora at .
