Job Description

Position Summary The DOT Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of trailers, materials, and equipment between company facilities, vendors, customers, and designated delivery locations. This position must comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company policies, and safety standards while maintaining professionalism and excellent customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate company vehicles in compliance with all DOT, federal, state, and local regulations. Transport trailers, components, parts, and materials safely and efficiently. Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections. Complete required DOT logs, inspection reports, and transportation documentation accurately. Secure loads properly to prevent damage during transportation. Inspect trailers and equipment before transport to ensure roadworthiness. Report vehicle maintenance issues, accidents, traffic violations, or safety concerns immediately. Maintain communication with dispatch, supervisors, and receiving personnel regarding delivery schedules and status updates. Assist with loading and unloading materials as required. Verify shipping paperwork, bills of lading, and delivery receipts. Maintain a clean and professional appearance of assigned vehicles. Follow all company safety procedures and participate in safety training. Support production and shipping departments as needed. Qualifications Required Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A. Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate. Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) meeting company insurance requirements. Ability to pass DOT-required drug and alcohol screenings. Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety requirements. Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles. Preferred Previous experience transporting trailers, heavy equipment, or oversized loads. Experience in a manufacturing or trailer production environment. Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.

From $18.00 per hour
