Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Local Class A CDL Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. As a key player in our logistics operations, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting pellets within local routes, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Your dedication will help keep our operations running smoothly and our customers satisfied. Duties Operate tractor-trailers with automatic transmission along designated local routes. Safely load and unload freight, including handling logistics cargo with precision and care. Use GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes, ensuring on-time deliveries and efficient mileage management. Transport pellets from Woodville to Port of Port Arthur. Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations during daily operations. Load and unload freight manually or with equipment. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to confirm delivery schedules, address route changes, or resolve issues promptly. Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record. With one year of experience. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving within local areas. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety procedures related to truck driving. Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS systems for efficient route planning. Experience in freight handling, load & unload procedures, and logistics cargo management. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and compliance at all times. Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation and safety checks.
