Brief Job Description:
Waste Helper to gather and carry containers from residential and/or commercial locations along routes and dump waste from containers onto garbage truck. Starts hoisting device that raises waste bin attached to garbage truck at dump site. Must be physically fit to service backdoor customers or around the house collection. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.- The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.

Purpose of the position:
To ensure day-to-day residential customer service needs are met in an efficient, safe and productive manner.Essential Duties of Position:
- Responsible for moving residential refuse and recyclables from curb to the garbage truck. Helpers will perform their duties in a safe manner at all times.
- Refuse cans shall be positioned back on the customer's property with lids properly replaced, in an upright position that does not block the driveway entrances, mailbox, or traffic.
- The helper is responsible for ensuring that the collection areas are clean by picking up any refuse that has fallen out of the container or truck.
- Following the direction of the driver who is in charge of the Helper while en route.
- Required safety gear shall be worn at all times while maintaining a neat and professional appearance.
Job Qualifications:
- Must have reliable transportation to work
- Must be able to work with others in a team environment.
- Must be able to complete required physical labor for entire shift.
- Must be able to quickly understand and adhere to safety requirements of the position.
Physical Requirements:
HEAVY:
Ability to perform heavy physical demanding work. Physical effort may include lifting, kneeling, touching, feeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive bending/twisting motions. Clarity of vision to see near, mid-range. Ability to lift and carry up to 70lbs repeatedly throughout shift.Working Conditions:
Heavy work in varying outdoor weather conditions and exposure to extremely cold temperatures, wind, snow, and ice. Potential exposure to hazardous materials. Exposure to exhaust fumes, garbage fumes and odors.Disclaimer:

Requirements for our helpers Ability to repeatedly lift 30 lbs. Occasionally lift 70 lbs with assistance. This position is an outside environment and employees are exposed to the weather. Helpers are teamed with a driver to pick up and load trash from customer's locations into our trucks. They are then taken to a landfill facility to be unloaded and processed. Manually or mechanically load and empty residential and/or commercial containers into truck. Containers maybe staged curbside, dockside, carryout, or require pullout to complete service. Operates hoisting device to lift and empty bins or containers into truck hopper. Assists driver with all backing maneuvers while on route. Notifies Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage. Notifies Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions including closed or impassable streets or alleyways, receptacles too heavy to service or potential safety hazards. Communicates customer requests to Dispatch or Route Manager Performs all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch and assisting other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.Benefits:
