SHIFT AVAILABLE JOB SUMMARY
Yard Jockey operates diesel powered tractor trailer combination bringing trailers to and from loading docks, to and from the yard, to be loaded and unloaded.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following: Other duties may be assigned.- Pulling trailers away from loading docks to be staged in the yard.
- Backs trailer to loading docks.
- Performs safety checks on yard equipment and trailers.
- Monitor yard for refrigerated equipment operation and maintaining of temperature.
- Adjust temp set point on refrigeration units and report shut down codes to supervisor.
- Opens and closes various doors on trailers, secures trailers with locks or seals.
- Required to maintain radio contact with shipping personnel to receive instructions on when and where to move trailers or other company equipment, such as straight trucks.
- Required to maintain a log of yard moves for their shift.
