Local Dump Truck Driver

Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Dump Truck Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty dump trucks. Your expertise will help ensure efficient project progress while maintaining the highest safety standards. Safely operate a commercial vehicle to transport and unload aggregate materials like gravel, dirt, sand, or construction debris to and from job sites. The role requires meticulous attention to safety regulations, routine vehicle maintenance, and coordination with site personnel.

Key Responsibilities Operation:

Safely maneuver a dump truck on public roads, highways, and uneven construction sites.

Loading & Unloading:

Drive the truck into loading/unloading positions and operate the hydraulic levers/controls to dump materials as directed.

Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance:

Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections (checking oil, tires, lights, brakes, etc.) in compliance with DOT guidelines, report any mechanical faults, and perform minor maintenance.

Safety & Compliance:

Adhere to all federal (DOT, OSHA) and company safety policies, procedures, and traffic laws.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate daily logs: mileage records, fuel; all required paperwork for deliveries and billing.

Communication:

Coordinate schedules, deliveries, and site conditions with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members via radio or phone.

Material Management:

Ensure materials are loaded correctly, do not exceed weight restrictions, and are secured safely (e.g., tarping the load).

Qualifications & Requirements License:

A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL),

Class A or B Driving Record:

A clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

Physical Fitness:

The ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing in and out of the truck, bending, and squatting. Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and drug screening, including random drug screening.

Experience:

3 Years Previous commercial driving or dump truck operation experience is preferred.
