Job Summary Join our team as a Front Load Trash Truck Driver / Roll Off Truck Driver and become a vital part of efficient waste collection and disposal services. In this energetic role, you will operate specialized commercial trucks designed for municipal waste management, ensuring safe, timely, and environmentally responsible collection of refuse. Your expertise in driving heavy-duty trucks, coupled with your commitment to safety and customer service, will keep communities clean and thriving. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, navigate city routes, and make a tangible difference every day. Duties Operate front loader trucks and roll-off trucks with precision, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols. Load, unload, and transport waste materials efficiently while maintaining compliance with hazardous materials regulations when applicable. Conduct pre-trip inspections on commercial trucks, including air brake systems and manual transmissions, ensuring vehicle safety and readiness. Follow designated routes for municipal waste collection, managing route driving schedules effectively to maximize productivity. Load and unload refuse containers using front-end loaders or rear loaders, ensuring proper handling of heavy materials and equipment. Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, including load & unload times, route completion, and vehicle maintenance reports. Communicate courteously with customers during pickups, providing excellent customer service while addressing any concerns professionally. Skills Proven experience operating front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, and roll-off trucks in a commercial or municipal setting. Strong knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle mechanics and routine maintenance procedures. Familiarity with traffic laws, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, state transportation laws, and safety protocols related to commercial driving. Skilled in defensive driving techniques to ensure safety for yourself and others on the road. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while loading refuse containers or debris. Understanding of hazardous materials regulations when handling special waste types. Outdoor work experience with the ability to work in varying weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety standards. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission is a plus. Class A or B CDL required Knowledge of solid waste management practices and municipal waste regulations. Strong customer service skills to interact positively with clients during collection activities.
