Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Class A CDL Lowboy Driver to safely transport heavy equipment, machinery, and oversized/overweight loads to and from various job sites. The ideal candidate must be skilled in driving tractor-trailer combinations, loading and securing various types of heavy construction machinery, and navigating route-planning requirements for oversized transport.

Key Responsibilities Transport & Operation:

Safely drive tractor and lowboy trailers to move excavators, dozers, loaders, and other heavy machinery.

Loading & Unloading:

Self-load and unload heavy equipment onto lowboy trailers, ensuring precise weight distribution.

Load Securement:

Properly chain, strap, binder, and block heavy machinery in strict accordance with DOT and state safety standards.

Permits & Regulations:

Read, understand, and strictly follow state-specific OS/OW (Oversized/Overweight) permit requirements, escort guidelines, and designated routes.

Inspections & Maintenance:

Conduct thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Perform minor routine maintenance (checking fluids, tire pressures, lights) and report mechanical issues promptly.

Job Site Navigation:

Safely maneuver rigs into tight, remote, or difficult off-road construction sites, forest roads, or urban locations.

Qualifications & Requirements CDL License:

Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A) with a clean Motor Vehicle Record.

Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience operating lowboy/RGN trailers and transporting heavy construction equipment.

Equipment Knowledge:

Hands-on experience driving/operating various types of heavy machinery (caterpillar, dozers, excavators, rollers) for loading/unloading purposes.

DOT Requirements:

Current Medical Examiner's Card (DOT Physical) and ability to pass DOT pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings.

Physical Capability:

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, climb on/off equipment and trailers, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Pay:

$27.00 - $30.00 per hour
