Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and dependable Shuttle Driver to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight, equipment, and personnel between various locations, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and excellent navigation skills will help keep our operations running smoothly. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a key player in our transportation network, supporting the seamless movement of goods across multiple routes. Responsibilities Operate a variety of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Safely load and unload freight using manual handling techniques and proper cargo handling procedures for logistics cargo. Navigate assigned routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure on-time deliveries while adhering to over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations and safety standards. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance with trucking regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and route documentation according to FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery status, or any issues encountered during transit. Qualifications Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for tractor-trailer or hazardous materials as required. Proven experience in truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation, preferably with route driving experience. Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including manual handling techniques for cargo safety. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for over-the-road (OTR) routes. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently. Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for commercial driving.
