Shuttle Driver

The Shuttle Driver is responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and courteous transportation services for guests throughout Burke Mountain Resort, the village of East Burke, and Lyndonville. This role requires confident operation of a passenger van—often towing a trailer—across steep, paved mountain terrain. The Shuttle Driver transports guests and their bikes to the summit of Burke Mountain for ride drop‑offs and ensures timely, friendly service while maintaining a strong focus on safety and guest satisfaction.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Safely operates a passenger van—often with a trailer—on steep, paved mountain roads, including manually shifting gears to manage engine control during climbs and descents and taking scheduled breaks to prevent brake overheating. Communicates effectively with shuttle dispatch and supervisors using radio and/or cellphone. Completes required verbal and written reports and responds to operational issues in accordance with established policies and procedures. Performs thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections, including cleaning and basic servicing, to ensure vehicles remain in safe operating condition. Complies with all traffic laws and resort transportation policies. Provides friendly, professional customer service and greets every guest in a welcoming manner. Assists guests with loading, unloading, and properly securing bikes onto the bike trailer. Listens attentively to guest questions or concerns and relays information to a supervisor or appropriate department as needed. Maintains a high level of guest service for all customers, staff, and visitors throughout transport operations. Performs additional responsibilities as assigned, which may include tasks outside the primary scope of the position.
