Responsibilities Safely operate a range of commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, and roll-off trucks, adhering to all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Plan and execute route driving using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and efficiency. Load and unload freight manually or with equipment like forklifts, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including manual transmission operation and truck maintenance checks. Manage logistics cargo handling processes for freight delivery, including securing loads on flatbeds or roll-off trucks as needed. Deliver freight accurately to various destinations while providing exceptional customer service during drop-offs and pickups. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, delivery records, and incident reports in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates or issues encountered during deliveries. Qualifications Valid CDL license with endorsements for various vehicle types such as tractor-trailer, tanker, flatbed, or refrigerated trailer. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driver roles. Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles and familiarity with manual handling techniques. Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), and hazardous materials regulations. Experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments. Ability to load & unload freight safely using equipment like forklifts or manual handling methods; experience with freight involving dangerous goods is a plus. Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for various types of freight including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, or heavy equipment like dump trucks or roll-off trucks. Excellent driving record with a focus on safety compliance and adherence to all traffic laws. Physical ability to perform manual tasks related to load securing and cargo handling; must be able to lift heavy items when necessary.
