Class A CDL Driver & Heavy Equipment Operator Wanted in Castle Rock! Are you an experienced commercial driver and skilled heavy equipment operator who enjoys versatile, hands-on site development work and getting home every single night? American Workforce Group has partnered with a premier excavation and groundwork contractor in Castle Rock, WA to hire a full-time, dual-threat Class A CDL Driver / Heavy Equipment Operator . In this active earthmoving role, you won't just sit behind the wheel—you will haul dump truck loads of dirt, gravel, aggregate, and rock to regional jobsites, while also jumping into the cab to run excavators, front-end loaders, and skid steers for grading, clearing, and trenching. If you bring a valid Class A CDL, solid seat time on heavy iron, and a strong work ethic, let's get you on the crew! Description for Class A Driver /Equipment Operator:
Safely operate commercial Class A dump trucks and equipment haulers to transport dirt, rock, gravel, and site-clearing debris between jobsites, pits, and disposal areas. Operate heavy dirt equipment on active excavation projects, including excavators, front-end loaders, and skid steers. Execute site prep, earthmoving, grading, backfilling, material stockpiling, and trenching for residential and commercial civil projects. Perform daily DOT-compliant pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks, trailers, and heavy machinery; grease, clean, and maintain equipment. Properly secure, chain down, and balance heavy equipment on lowboy or tag trailers for transport between regional jobsites. Communicate clearly with site foremen, grade checkers, and ground crew to ensure exact grade and safe excavation clearance. Strictly adhere to jobsite safety standards, trenching safety guidelines, and Washington State DOT regulations. Details for Class A Driver /Equipment Operator:
Pay Rate:
$25.00 - $35.00 / hour (Scaling strictly based on equipment versatility, machine proficiency, and CDL experience / DOE).Schedule:
Full-Time Monday - Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Core Day Shift).Weekend Availability:
Occasional Saturday shifts based on weather and project timelines; Sundays are always OFF!Route & Work Style:
100% Local site work — Home every single night!Location:
Castle Rock, WA and surrounding Cowlitz County project sites.Position Type:

Licensing:
Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A CDL) with a clean, insurable driving abstract and current DOT medical card.Equipment Seat Time:
Hands-on experience safely operating earthmoving equipment (excavators, loaders, skid steers, or backhoes).Hauling & Dump Trucks:
Verifiable experience driving commercial dump trucks and hauling materials over various terrains and active jobsites. Ability to chain, strap, and safely transport heavy machinery on trailers. Physical stamina—comfortable climbing in and out of cabs, performing daily machine walk-arounds, and assisting ground crews when needed.
