Job Description

Drive/operate ten (10) yard dump truck with trailer and other County equipment to facilitate the construction, repair, rebuilding and all related maintenance of roadways. Operation of heavy dump trucks, pup trailers, low-boys, tilt trailers and tankers for repair, maintenance and construction of roadways. Perform preventative maintenance and servicing of assigned equipment to ensure safe, operational status. Ensure a safe work environment for maintenance crews and the general public. Ability to service and perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation. Ability to recognize hazards and safety problems. Knowledge of laws, regulations and requirements related to the trucking industry to ensure safety of employees and the general public. Knowledge of modern practices, methods and materials used in maintenance, repair and construction of roadways. Ability to maintain effective relationships with other employees. Ability to communicate, understand and carry out oral and written instruction. Ability safely drive truck/trailer combinations on narrow roadways, with no shoulders in all traffic situations. Ability to successfully complete required training courses. Valid Washington State Combination Drivers License. Flagger Certification. State Pesticide License (Possible requirement).
