We are hiring a full-time Truck Driver on McNeil Island. Join us within our Maintenance and Operations Division (MOD), where you will experience the rewarding feeling of being alongside a dedicated team, that shares your same passion of being committed to success. This position is a great opportunity for those who have recently retired. SCC employees also receive anadditional$10 per day premium pay in addition to advertised salary and a free ORCAcard for transportation use. ?Ferry transportation is provided to McNeil Island employees. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential and the standard compensation rate. Some of what you will do: Transports administration, staff, contractors, vendors, and visitors to and from the Marine Dock to the Special Commitment Center and other locations on/off island as needed. Transport of laundry (soiled and clean) to/from Western State Hospital Laundry and SCC, to include loading and unloading, on a marine barges. Transport of food items, equipment, supplies, and materials to/from Western State Hospital and SCC, to include loading and unloading, on a marine barges. Transports freight, USPS mail, and other packages to and from various locations, loading/unloading, and transporting to facility utilizing marine barges. Performs pre/post trip inspections on all equipment operated. Cleans exterior and interior of vehicles to include vacuuming. Operates, and preps snow/Ice removal, and sand spreading equipment to ensure Island roads are safe and accessible. Responsible for paperwork, record keeping, and mileage logs. Minor vehicle/equipment maintenance and repairs. Housekeeping of shop area, work area, break room, and restroom.What we are looking for:
Knowledge of rules and regulations (Federal, State, County, City) pertaining to safe operation of vehicles and equipment utilizing public roadways. Ability to operate medium to large trucks, buses, and equipment in a safe, professional manner. Ability to load/unload equipment on/off DOC marine barges in a safe, professional manner. Ability to effectively communicate and work with management, peers, clients, and the public as required to carry out assigned duties of the position. Work requires employees to be on their feet 75% of their workday on concrete or similar type surface. Regularly lift up to 50 lbs. Bend and twist as needed. Must possess sufficient strength and agility to grasp, hold, and handle a variety of objects, including tools, machinery, and products. Who should apply? One year experience transporting passengers, operating forklifts, and various other vehicles/equipment.
