Job Description
Overview We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this vital role, you will operate a tractor-trailer to deliver freight efficiently and securely across various routes. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, including containers and live stock trailers, across designated routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Navigate using GPS systems to ensure accurate and efficient delivery routes, adjusting plans as needed for traffic or weather conditions. Load and unload freight manually, ensuring proper handling of cargo. Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to verify safety standards are met, including checking for mechanical issues or safety hazards. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and compliance records in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any incidents encountered on the road. Qualifications Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and proven experience in commercial truck driving. TWIC card necessary. Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks and handle manual cargo handling tasks confidently. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient delivery execution. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules. Ability to load & unload freight safely while adhering to safety protocols; experience with truck loading/unloading equipment is a plus.
