Under the direction of the Logistics Manager, the Dump Truck Driver will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering aggregates, asphalt, and other construction related materials to various crews and customers in Wisconsin and Michigan. Driver must be capable of loading and hauling equipment on a tag trailer attached to the dump truck.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Safely operate and drive truck as directed for asphalt and aggregates to company crews, stockpiles, customers/contractors on residential, commercial, industrial, and DOT projects. Responsible for preventative maintenance on dump truck. Perform or assist in repair work. Operate vehicles and maintains personal safety in accordance with Company, FMCSA, and OSHA policy guidelines. Stay informed of all applicable D.O.T. rules and regulations, and operates within those rules and regulations. Performs daily pre-trip inspection on truck and related equipment for operation and safety. Keeps trucks in premium operating condition. Use sound judgement when setting up equipment on job sites that may be dangerous for the operator, equipment or other personnel. Read and understand delivery tickets - with regard to delivery location, material types, and quantity of material to be delivered. Report back to dispatch using proper communication procedure, with status of job and for other scheduling purposes. Follow instructions and guidance from management and supervisors. Ability to deal with customers in a diplomatic manner in various situations. Labor and/or operate other equipment (such as water truck) as directed.
Qualifications:
Must have a Valid Driver's License with a Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement Minimum 1 year of driving experience required. A satisfactory driving record. High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Ability to operate, maintain, and clean equipment. Able to comply with and operate and maintain an electronic logging device (ELD). Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner. Must be punctual and dependable. Must have reliable transportation and show up for work on time every day. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening to be hired. Be capable of operating computerized equipment - tablet, smart phone, etc. Must have a smartphone for company related information. Be available to work from April 1st to December 15th. Will require working long hours, some weekends, occasional night shifts, and working in Wisconsin and Michigan. Be able to work in a road construction or jobsite environment which includes; traffic, heat, cold, rain, dirt and dust. Be able to walk, sit, climb a ladder, bend, kneel, reach, grasp, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
