Camp Y Mentor Driver

YMCA Camp St. Croix is seeking Y Mentor Drivers, this role will be responsible for driving 15-passenger camp vans to and from various locations dropping off and picking up groups of campers. The typical driving trips will be 2-4 hours round trip with few trips that are up to 8 hours round trip. Trip timing and frequency varies depending on current session dates and enrollment numbers. The salary for this position starts at $17.00 hourly. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.

Job Summary:

The Y Mentor Driver has the responsibility to contribute to the overall mission and goals of the YMCA Program operations and programs by providing program participant transportation safely and within risk protocol.

Essential Functions:

Partner with the Program Director and/or leadership in developing and maintaining a driving schedule that works for the needs of the Y Mentor program. Maintain all proper licensure and documentation as a certified driver and be able to complete vehicle maintenance and safety inspection prior to operation of a vehicle for YMCA of the North. Maintain safety and insurance of personal vehicle through inspecting the vehicle for any issues, ensure proper fuel levels, and completion of any maintenance or repairs. Stay current on YMCA of the North Drive for the Y policies and procedures. Any other duties as assigned.

Relationships:

This position reports to the Camp Program Director who reports to the Camp Executive Director.

Qualifications:

Required:

Enrolled in higher education Ability to safely maintain and operate personal vehicle Must be able to obtain Drive for the Y - MVR credentials (able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record screening which is also renewed annually) Must be 21 years of age or older Ability to utilize provided technology and software to perform duties and manage communication.
