Job Description

SUMMARY:
The driver will be primarily responsible for picking up, dropping off, and unloading donations of food and other goods (including furniture and mattresses) and in-store duties when not driving. Approximately 35/hours a week.
Vincentian Presence:
To provide all services with dignity while assisting customers (which include voucher recipients and volunteers) without regard to race, color or creed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet customers with courtesy such as "Good morning", "Good afternoon", "Please" and "Thank you" to establish good customer relations. Listen to and resolve customer service inquiries and complaints. Safely loads, delivers and unloads goods and merchandise. Punctual and dependable in order to maintain pick-up and drop-off schedules. Provide timely communication back to the Store Manager regarding any changes or issues experienced while making deliveries or pick-ups. Maintains paperwork ensuring proper completion and balanced truck counts before and after deliveries. Package the merchandise for the customer and assists customers load merchandise into their vehicles. Works in warehouse or on dock as needed. Operate material handling equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all safety procedures performs pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure that all equipment is in good working order. Immediately reports any accidents or injuries to management. Responsible for taking photos after any accident, including license plate numbers, driver's license and registration. Education/Licensing/Certification:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Valid Driver's License Must have one (1) year of driving experience within the last four (4) years and a clean driving record to include no more than two (2) violations in a personal vehicle per the state DMV within the last three (3) years.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work independently and under some pressure. Ability to read and comprehend work instructions. Demonstrates a clear and effective speaking manner for the purpose of explaining information to customers and fellow associates. Detail-oriented and able to write. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to safely operate material handling equipment.
Physical Demands:
Frequently required to stand and/or sit, talk and hear. Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate object, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. Perform repetitive motions necessary to deliver products. Employee will frequently be required to actively listen and exchange information. Employee will be required to observe and assess information received via computer. Requires frequent use of computer. Ability to routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without the use of a hand truck for distances up to 25 feet. For transporting any weight 25 feet or beyond requires the use of a hand truck (or the aid of some alternate material handling equipment). Employee may occasionally be required to transport and move up to 800 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment. Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, climb, use hands and arms while servicing customers and stocking the floor. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distant and color vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace. Flexible to work varied hours and overtime as needed. Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees.
