This role is responsible for maintaining the appearance and organization of the yard, preparing equipment for rent, assisting drivers with loading and unloading equipment, and ensuring all equipment is clean, safe, and rental-ready. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Key Responsibilities Inspect, clean, fuel, and prepare equipment for customer rentals Check returned equipment for damage, missing parts, and operational issues Maintain organization and cleanliness of the yard, shop, and storage areas Load and unload equipment using forklifts or other material-handling equipment Assist customers with equipment pickup and return processes Perform basic preventative maintenance and minor repairs Tag equipment needing service and communicate issues to mechanics or management Conduct daily yard checks to ensure safety and proper storage of equipment Support inventory counts and asset tracking Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines Assist other departments as needed to support branch operations Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Previous experience in equipment rental, construction, landscaping, warehouse, or outdoor labor preferred Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to identify equipment issues Ability to safely operate forklifts and other yard equipment (certification preferred) Valid driver's license with clean driving record preferred Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly Comfortable working outdoors year-round Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail Good communication and customer service skills
