Ideal Crane Rental is seeking an experienced Semi Driver to safely transport cranes, equipment, and materials using semi tractors and flatbed trailers throughout Wisconsin. This is a customer-facing role where drivers represent Ideal Crane at jobsites and have the opportunity to build strong relationships with customers while delivering reliable, professional service.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Driving & Equipment Transport Safely operate semi tractor and flatbed trailer to transport equipment to and from jobsites. Load, unload, and properly secure equipment for transit. Complete daily equipment deliveries and pickups. Verify delivery and pickup paperwork for accuracy. Follow assigned routes and schedules. Safety & DOT Compliance Follow DOT, FMCSA, and applicable traffic and safety regulations. Maintain required driver logs and records. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Ensure truck, trailer, equipment, and supplies are road-ready and safe. Report required or anticipated repairs and maintenance needs. Customer & Jobsite Support Communicate professionally with customers and company personnel. Follow jobsite safety procedures. Represent Ideal Crane professionally at customer locations. Support safe and efficient equipment movement.Required:
3+ years of professional hauling experience. Class A CDL with current DOT medical certification. Experience operating a semi and loading/unloading equipment. Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations. Ability to safely secure loads for transportation. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer/tablet skills. Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently. Satisfactory driving record.Preferred:
Flatbed or folding-tail trailer experience. Experience hauling cranes, heavy equipment, or construction equipment. Experience working on construction jobsites. The right candidate is an experienced, safety-conscious professional who takes pride in maintaining equipment, delivering on schedule, and providing excellent customer service.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit and drive for periods of approximately 3-4 hours at a time. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday. Ability to perform the physical functions necessary to safely load, secure, inspect, and transport equipment. Ability to meet applicable DOT medical and fitness requirements.
