Job Description

Job Overview Wetterau Homestead Inc. is looking to hire regional/ OTR, experienced food grade tanker and hazmat drivers. This position will include hauling food grade tankers throughout our various lanes such as Missouri, Minnesota, upstate New York, and more. All is
NO TOUCH
FREIGHT and the majority of destinations are drop and hook. Hazmat regional van work destinations include Omaha, NE, Des Moines, IA, St. Paul, MN, and more. Drivers can expect anywhere from 3,000-3,700 miles weekly on an ELD and home each week. No 34 hour resets on the road, and a clean driving record is a must. We have new equipment including 13 speed manual Freightliner Cascadia's and air-ride trailers. We are a 40 year old family business that is currently growing. Duties Load and unload cargo efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Transport hazardous materials across designated regional routes, ensuring timely deliveries. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in accordance with DOT regulations. Follow all safety procedures related to hazmat transportation, including proper handling and documentation of hazardous materials. Assist with route planning to optimize delivery schedules and fuel efficiency. Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly. Comply with all federal, state, and local transportation laws and regulations. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements for hazmat and tanker Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with freight delivery over regional routes. Experience operating manual transmission trucks Ability to operate specialized equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks is a plus. Knowledge of various trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, roll-off trucks, and dump trucks. Experience with load & unload operations and route driving logistics. Strong understanding of safety regulations related to hazardous materials transportation. Excellent driving record with a clean background check. Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as loading/unloading cargo safely. Good communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
