Yard Team Member Location:
Roberts, WI Job Summary:
The Yard Team Member supports daily concrete plant and yard operations by maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient yard environment. This role is responsible for loading and unloading materials, operating yard equipment, maintaining inventory, guiding truck traffic, and ensuring all tools, equipment, and work areas are clean and operational. The Yard Team Member works closely with plant operators, truck drivers, and maintenance personnel to support on-time concrete production while following all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Operate equipment to load, stack, and retrieve materials and supplies. Assist with handling aggregates, cement, and other production materials. Monitor, document, and maintain inventory levels. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard, equipment, and storage areas. Exercise sound judgment during unloading and material handling operations. Guide truck traffic and support the safe movement of vehicles throughout the yard. Follow all OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations. Inspect equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns. Support plant operations by assisting with general yard duties and material staging. Perform additional duties as assigned to support daily operations. An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. Education & Preferred Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Zero to two years of construction, manufacturing, concrete, or industrial experience preferred. Familiarity with material handling equipment is preferred. Basic understanding of construction, concrete, or industrial operations is a plus. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Self-motivated, dependable, and flexible to meet operational needs. Strong commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures. Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical & Mental Demands:
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling of materials and equipment. Occasional climbing, kneeling, crawling, and lifting or moving materials weighing up to 40 pounds. Ability to push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday. Ability to maintain focus, follow detailed instructions, communicate effectively, and safely perform assigned duties. May require operation of loaders, forklifts, and other equipment associated with the position.
Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily outdoors with occasional indoor work. Exposure to changing weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, rain, and temperature fluctuations. Frequent exposure to moving machinery, equipment, truck traffic, dust, dirt, vibration, noise, and industrial work environments. Required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe or composite boots, gloves, and reflective vest, must be worn at all times in the yard. Full-time schedule of approximately 40 hours per week. No regular travel required.
