Healthy Kids Inc. prepares from-scratch meals for childcare centers, schools, and community partners across West Virginia. Our Huntington Central Kitchen is looking for a dependable part-time driver to help safely deliver those meals to the children and communities we serve.
POSITION SUMMARY
Our delivery drivers are the daily connection between the kitchen and the childcare centers, schools, and community partners we serve. This position is responsible for safely loading, transporting, and delivering meals using a Healthy Kids Inc. vehicle while representing our brand and mission at every stop. The driver also serves as an important liaison between delivery sites and the kitchen. They listen carefully, communicate questions or concerns, share important updates with kitchen leadership, and help ensure each site receives what it needs. The right person is dependable, organized, friendly, and comfortable working independently. They understand that accurate counts, safe food temperatures, timely deliveries, and positive relationships all matter.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Load meals, food pans, insulated cambro containers, and other supplies into the Healthy Kids delivery vehicle. Verify meal counts, delivery instructions, and required food temperatures before leaving the kitchen. Safely transport and deliver meals to assigned childcare centers, schools, and community sites. Follow the assigned route and complete deliveries accurately and on time. Serve as the day-to-day liaison between the kitchen and the childcare centers, schools, and community partners on the assigned delivery route. Represent the Healthy Kids brand and mission through dependable service, professional communication, helpfulness, and genuine care. Build positive working relationships with site staff and become a trusted, familiar point of contact. Listen carefully to site questions, feedback, and concerns and communicate relevant information to kitchen leadership promptly and accurately. Help close the communication loop by sharing kitchen updates with sites and confirming that delivery-related concerns have been resolved. Notify kitchen leadership promptly about delays, count discrepancies, temperature concerns, vehicle issues, or delivery-site problems. Unload meals and supplies safely at each location. Pick up and return food pans, insulated bags, containers, paperwork, or other supplies as directed. Keep the delivery vehicle clean, organized, and ready for use. Complete any required delivery, temperature, mileage, or vehicle documentation. Assist briefly with packing, loading, cleaning, organization, or other kitchen tasks before or after the delivery route as needed.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Valid driver's license and a good driving record. Must meet Healthy Kids Inc. driver-insurance requirements and remain insurable under the company's vehicle policy. Ability to pass a background check and meet applicable requirements for working around children. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Our partner sites count on meals arriving within a specific timeframe. Strong organization and attention to detail. Ability to follow delivery routes and written instructions accurately. Comfortable working independently and making responsible decisions on the road. Friendly, professional communication with childcare centers, schools, community partners, and kitchen team members. Ability to listen carefully, retain important information, and accurately communicate site feedback to the kitchen. Ability to safely lift, carry, load, and unload food pans, insulated bags, and delivery supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. Reliable transportation to and from the Huntington Central Kitchen.

SCHEDULE
Part-time, Monday through Friday, generally within the 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM timeframe. Exact start and end times may vary slightly based on the assigned route, meal volume, and delivery needs.
