Job Description
Core Responsibilities Ice resurfacing : Operate a Zamboni or similar ice resurfacing machine safely and efficiently to maintain smooth, level, and safe ice Ice condition monitoring : Continuously check ice quality, perform edging, chipping, repairs, and adjust ice depth as needed Resurfacing schedules : Manage timing for ice and transitions between events (hockey, figure skating, public sessions) Customer service : Greet patrons, answer inquiries, and provide a safe, welcoming environment Administrative tasks : Complete maintenance logs, ice condition reports, and inventory tracking; Skills & Qualifications Valid driver's license; often 3-5 years' ice maintenance experience preferred but not required. (will train the right candidate) Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; ability to perform minor equipment adjustments a plus Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service abilities Physical stamina for lifting (20-50 lbs), standing, and working in varying conditions High school diploma/GED; certifications Work Environment Seasonal often includes evenings, weekends, and holidays Exposure to cold, wet, and outdoor conditions; may require snow removal and ice cleanup
