Job Description

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is seeking to hire a student assistant, in a learning capacity, under the supervision of a Senior Transportation Engineer Supervisor, in a learning capacity, the student assistant will support the deployment of new technology and implement improvements proposed by HQ (Headquarters) Division of Construction. The successful candidate will ensure ADA assets are being constructed in compliance with the Departments' ADA Infrastructure Program's Business Plan. The ideal candidate would be able to work in both a field and office environment with a wide range of temperature/weather ranges, applicable to the Ventura, Los Angeles and surrounding counties. The student assistant will have (or be in the process of obtaining their Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) 107 certificate to operate small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS), i.e.: drones.
