Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated ITS Field Maintenance Technician to support FDOT roadway projects. This role involves the installation, programming, integration, and maintenance of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) components across various traffic infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain ITS components including: IP Cameras & Digital Video Systems Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) Vehicle Detection & Wrong Way Vehicle Detection (WWVD) Systems Edge-Computing Technology Emergency Vehicle Preemption & Transit Signal Priority Adaptive Traffic Signal Control Ramp Metering Systems Communications Networks Ground Mount & Pole Mount Cabinets UPS Devices Perform underground cable locating and inventory of ITS components Troubleshoot wiring, hardware, and software issues Adjust, repair, replace, and modify electrical components Operate aerial equipment such as bucket trucks and manlifts Use Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturer-specific software for diagnostics and reporting
Requirements:
Valid Driver's License (CDL preferred; company-sponsored CDL available) Willingness to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions Ability to inspect and operate aerial equipment safely Strong troubleshooting and technical skills Experience with ITS or traffic signal systems preferred
Work Environment:
Field-based role with hands-on technical responsibilities Union-supported position with full benefits Hybrid scheduling not applicable; field presence required
