Job Description

Under general supervision, the purpose of this position is to inspect street light outages, input data and report outage locations, and monitor outcomes. The individual in this role performs all work according to established safety standards, codes, and regulations applicable to the work.
Days/Hours:
Monday - Wednesday, 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM Midnight Thursday, 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM Midnight During the day time hours:
  • Monitor and inspect right of ways for damaged and downed signs, and inspect roadways and sidewalks for potholes and cracks.
  • Follow up with customers via email and phone with reported outages and completed repairs.
During the night time hours:
  • Drive through all sectors of the city to inspect and report street light outages.
  • Run tests in the field with a light meter when requested to collect data for customer complaint analysis.
  • Communicate with all essential jurisdictions to correct lighting outages by reporting to: City contractor, FPL, and Broward County.
  • Inspect and report all outages of street ID signs at intersections and grand entry way signs entering the city.
  • Asset data management during hurricanes (crucial)
  • High school Diploma or GED required.
  • Must possess a valid Florida driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Must have good organizational skills, data entry experience, and the ability to work as a two-person team.
Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe workplace practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations, and traffic signals when driving.
