This position offers an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with complex electrical and mechanical systems, utilizing your technical expertise to troubleshoot issues. As a key contributor, you will help enhance public safety and traffic management through your skilled service and dedication. All work will be performed within our facility, Mon-Thu 6am to 4:30pm, no field work or traveling required for this position. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair traffic signal equipment, including controllers, wiring, sensors, and related hardware using hand tools and specialized testing devices such as ohmmeters. Install new traffic signal components following schematics and technical specifications. Use computer hardware and software to configure signal controllers, update firmware, and review system diagnostics. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately identify issues and execute repairs. Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs, inspections, and parts used for accountability and future reference. Qualifications Proven experience in field service or as a service technician working with electrical or mechanical systems. Proficiency with hand tools, electrical testing equipment (such as ohmmeters), and basic computer hardware. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately. Experience in equipment repair, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting electrical systems involving low voltage circuits. Familiarity with computer networking principles relevant to traffic control systems is preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with effective communication abilities. IMSA certification is not required. Minimum of 3 years hands on experience as a Signal Tech II. Join us to make a tangible difference in community safety through your technical skills!
