Street Traffic Studies, Ltd is currently hiring Traffic Engineering Technicians to work as part of their design team in their Glen Burnie, Maryland Office. Street Traffic Studies, Ltd, is a professional engineering consulting firm that specializes solely in traffic and transportation engineering. Initially formed 1971, the firm ahs evolved into a Maryland Registered Professional Engineering Corporation successfully performing a broad range of technical services within both the public and private sector. For over fifty years, Street Traffic Studies has provided a broad array of professional traffic engineering and design services throughout the State of Maryland, Northern Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Our top rated designers effectively responded to requests in preparing traffic signal design packages, telemetry interconnect systems, minor geometric plans with pavement marking, signing and lighting, special warning systems, and in-house support in the development of specifications and training. The Impact You'll Make As a Traffic Engineering CADD Technician, you'll be the technical backbone of our traffic design projects. Your work will directly shape plans that guide construction crews, influence traffic flow, and enhance roadway safety for thousands of drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians everyday. From creating detailed signal layouts to refining pavement marking plans, your designs will help bring our engineering vision to life. What You'll Do Based on team based field review, assembling and reviewing existing plans, prepare and develop detailed signing, striping, traffic signal, lighting, and temporary traffic control plans using CADD software (Intergraph MicroStation experience preferred). Translate engineering concepts and field data into precise, buildable design drawings. Collaborate with traffic engineers to ensure designs meet MUTCD, State DOT, and local standards. Update and maintain plan sets throughout the project life, incorporating redlines and revisions. Assist in preparing quantity take-off's, cost estimates, and plan documentation for submittals. What You'll Bring High School Graduate - Minimum (0-5 years experience) Proficiency in CADD software (MicroStation, preferred); experience with traffic-specific design projects is a plus. Familiarity with traffic engineering standards, including MUTCD and State DOT guidelines. Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality drawings under tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with engineers, project managers, and field staff. An eagerness to learn and adapt to evolving design technologies and standards.
