Job Description

This position focuses on the operation, maintenance, repair, and improvement of City streets and associated infrastructure, including storm sewer systems, traffic signs, streetlights, sidewalks, and related public assets. Under the direction of the divisional Field Supervisors and Lead Workers, this position performs physically demanding, hands-on manual labor in support of the Public Works Department. Responsibilities include the operation, repair, maintenance, and construction of the City's streets, parks, water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems, as well as other associated infrastructure. The position regularly requires the use of hand and power tools, operation of equipment and vehicles, lifting and moving heavy materials, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and performing other strenuous physical tasks. The position also provides a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
