Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Traffic Signal Technician and become a vital part of maintaining and enhancing our city's transportation infrastructure! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining traffic signals, street lighting, and related electrical systems. Your expertise will ensure safe and efficient traffic flow, helping communities move smoothly while working with cutting-edge electrical and communication technology. Duties Install, troubleshoot, and repair traffic signals, street lighting, and low voltage electrical systems using hand tools and specialized equipment Conduct electrical diagnostics to identify issues with AC/DC electrical systems, schematics, and blueprints Perform routine maintenance on traffic control devices to ensure optimal operation and safety standards are met Utilize electrical soldering techniques and read electrical schematics to diagnose complex engineering troubleshooting problems Use computer hardware and networking tools to configure, test, and monitor traffic signal systems remotely or on-site Read engineering blueprints and electrical schematics accurately to guide installation or repair processes Perform equipment repair tasks including replacing components, wiring repairs, and system upgrades while adhering to safety protocols Experience Proven service technician experience with a focus on electrical diagnostics, equipment repair, or field service roles involving traffic or street lighting systems Hands-on experience working with AC/DC electrical systems, low voltage wiring, and electrical soldering techniques Familiarity with computer networking as it relates to traffic signal communication systems Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics effectively Experience using hand tools such as ohmmeters for testing circuits and troubleshooting electrical issues Knowledge of engineering troubleshooting methods for complex electrical or mechanical problems in outdoor environments Prior work involving maintenance of traffic control devices or similar infrastructure is highly desirable This role is paid and offers a vibrant work environment where your technical skills directly contribute to community safety.
