The Loudoun County, Virginia, Department of Building and Development is seeking applications for the temporary position of Scanning Technician to support a twelve (12) month digitization project in the Engineering Division. This critical project involves converting physical plans and associated documents to digital format in addition to inspecting and updating the related applications in the LandMARC system. This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties: Operate document scanners to digitize existing files including large-format plans and standard records. Organize digital files in accordance with department naming conventions and filing standards. Inspect approximately 10,000 land development applications in the LandMARC system to consolidate previously uploaded documents. Other duties in support of this project as assigned. The ideal candidate will be very detail-oriented and self-motivated. The ideal candidate will also be highly proficient in relevant computer systems and be comfortable communicating through virtual media. Hiring salary commensurate with experience. High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of general office experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background checks including credit, criminal, and driving (DMV) record checks. Valid driver's license and good driving record when required for job-related duties. (Driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification.)
