Job Description

Department:
Tours and Transportation - Hanauma Bay Tram Reports to:
Express Manager/Supervisor Status:
Non-Exempt 1.
Job Purpose/Objective:
This position is responsible for providing safe, prompt and efficient transportation to passengers at the Hanauma Bay Tram. The Tram Driver operates the vehicle in accordance with traffic regulations and observes traffic lights, other vehicles, and pedestrians to avoid accidents. This individual will represent the company in a professional manner infusing the Spirit of Aloha in their interactions by applying the Standard of Service at all times. 2.
Essential Job Functions:
Vehicle Operation and Maintenance:
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, general maintenance and cleaning of vehicles Complete Driver's Inspection Report checklist and report any problems to maintenance immediately Responsible for fueling (and recording fuel usage) and washing of company equipment when necessary Pick up and drop off passengers in an orderly and efficient manner; perform transportation to and from assigned destinations Keep accurate passenger counts and report changes to shift supervisor
Customer Service:
Perform duties of a driver with professionalism and in a courteous manner; greeting customers with "Aloha" and providing exceptional customer service Provide and practice customer service as learned in company training Provide announcements in a clear and friendly manner as instructed Deal with people in a non-discriminatory way, and maintain control of self and passengers in all situations, including emergencies Assist passengers in need of special assistance and secure wheelchairs
Compliance:
Obtain and maintain appropriate documents to meet DOT regulations and ensure documents remain current to maintain driver's eligibility Complete Vehicle Accident Report and follow company policies in event of an accident Responsible for attending all training and/or staff meetings
Attendance and Appearance:
Present a neat clean appearance Must know and be on time for daily schedule; schedule must be checked daily Must be in proper uniform for shift; clean and properly maintain uniform; required IDs are to be worn at all times during shift At beginning of shift, pick up daily assignments/manifests, tablet, radio and signage, and be at assigned station to greet passengers Perform other related duties as assigned or requested 3. Essential Skills (Minimum qualifications individual must possess when entering position) - i.e. skillsets, education, certifications, etc.: High School diploma or equivalent Must be at least 21 years of age Able to work flexible shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays Able to adjust to changing schedules Interact professionally with all individuals such as passengers, vendors, agents, clients, etc. Able to write basic reports Must be able to calculate simple math functions including addition, subtraction, and multiplication Basic computer skills desired Entail compliance with Company Substance Abuse Policy and Department of Transportation Controlled Substances and Alcohol Use and Testing regulations Enjoy interacting with individuals on a regular basis Build customer confidence, is committed to increasing customer satisfaction, set achievable customer expectations, assume responsibility for solving customer problems, ensure commitments to customers are met, solicit opinions and ideas from customers, respond to internal customers Meet commitments, work independently, accept accountability, handle change, set personal standards, stay focused under pressure, meet attendance/punctuality requirements Has a global view and is comfortable and effective working with global partners, understand global markets and international considerations Understand duties and responsibilities, has necessary job knowledge, has necessary technical skills, understand company mission/values, keep job knowledge current, is in command of critical issues Prioritize well, show energy, react to opportunities, instill urgency in others, meet deadlines Meet all team deadlines and responsibilities, listen to others and value opinions, help team leader to meet goals, welcome newcomers and promote team atmosphere Promote mutual respect, keep workplace clean and safe, support safety programs 4.
Working Conditions/Job Environment:
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time Frequent stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting Must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and make fine discriminations in sound judgment Required to have visual acuity to perform activities in the following conditions: Operating and repairing machines/equipment
