This role involves disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling vehicle transmissions to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, proficiency with hand and power tools, and experience with vehicle maintenance. Responsibilities Disassemble and inspect used or faulty transmissions to identify issues Rebuild transmissions by replacing worn or damaged components using precision tools Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters to test electrical components Clean and prepare transmission parts for reassembly Perform quality checks to ensure rebuilt transmissions meet safety and performance standards Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and work performed Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks as needed to support overall shop operations Qualifications Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair or transmission rebuilding preferred Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures and systems Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Excellent manual dexterity and ability to work with small parts for extended periods Prior experience in automotive repair or related field is a plus but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards
