This client is specifically looking for candidates with 4+ years of U.S. military experience- Korn Ferry Military Division has partnered with our client on their search for a Rail Services Technician for their location in Landover Hills MD (10 miles NE of Washington D.
Compensation:
$30.00-40.00/hourWhat You Will Do:
The successful candidate will have previous knowledge within a maintenance and engineering environment, be an effective communicator, and be willing to assist with additional duties, as necessary. Previous Rolling Stock experience would be a plus. Employee performs highly skilled installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with mechanical and electrical assemblies. Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and installation of equipment. Layout, assemble, test, and install apparatus and equipment, working from blueprints schematics, sketches, verbal instructions and other specifications. Preparation of the job to be accomplished by studying any document related but not limited to assembly instructions, FMIs, blueprint specifications, as well as have a good understanding of parts lists, subassemblies, tools, and materials. Align, fit and assemble component parts, using hand tools, power tools, measuring tools and blueprints. Verify specifications by measuring/testing completed components Install, repair and service specialized mechanical equipment, machinery, panels as well as wiring/harnesses. This role is roughly 90% diagnostics and troubleshooting. Via laptop connections, Technician will review fault logs, use diagnostic software, and troubleshoot electrical, communication, control, and computer systems. 4+ years Active Duty US Military experience required Experience using diagnostic software and computer-based troubleshooting tools Must enjoy troubleshooting complex systems, and possess ability to investigate root causes . Strong preference for avionics, electronics, communications, controls, and electrical troubleshooting talent; must enjoy digging into software, fault codes, electrical systems, and figuring out why something failed.Ability to:
