Mechanical Engineer - Military Ground Vehicles Sterling Heights, MI $44.63-$51.77/Hour Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. Responsibilities:

Develop and integrate components to meet performance, human factors, environmental, ballistic, and mine blast requirements Design and analyze shock/vibration isolation systems, mounting brackets, and structural mechanisms mechanics of materials, material selection, welding, and fabrication principles in component design Perform design analysis, tolerance stack-ups, drawing spanups, and engineering change documentation Generate material requests and shop work requests; track parts through build cycles Support prototype and production vehicle builds, fit checks, and integration reviews Conduct failure analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective action development Direct and oversee CAD model and drawing development Present design concepts and technical updates to engineering and program leadership Support troubleshooting and redesign efforts as required

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance

Experience:

5-7+ years of mechanical engineering experience Experience supporting prototype and/or production vehicle builds Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes

Technical Skills:

Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles Experience with solid modeling tools (NX and/or Creo preferred) Experience with Teamcenter (preferred) Experience with Vis Mockup (plus) Experience designing for welded structures and mounting provisions

Additional Requirements:

Ability to travel up to 10 Ability to work in and around military vehicles Ability to support occasional overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications:
