This position plays a critical role in minimizing fleet downtime and maintaining vehicle safety and compliance. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to accurately assess vehicle condition while coordinating repairs with internal teams and outside vendors. What You'll Do - Vehicle Inspections & Fleet Readiness Conduct detailed inspections of incoming and outgoing fleet vehicles. Evaluate and document vehicle condition, including: Tires and wheels Body and paint damage Glass and mirrors Interior condition Warning lights and diagnostics Leaks, drivability concerns, and safety issues Capture clear photos and detailed documentation of all findings. Ensure vehicles meet company standards before being returned to rental status. Mechanical Assessment & Repair Coordination Identify mechanical, operational, and safety-related issues. Recommend appropriate repair actions based on severity and operational impact. Coordinate repair activity with internal personnel and outside service providers. Verify completion and quality of repairs before vehicles are returned to service. Compliance & Documentation Perform DOT inspections and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. Maintain accurate records, inspection reports, and vehicle status updates. Track vehicles through the repair process and monitor progress toward returning units to "Rent Ready" status. Vehicle Transport & Lot Operations Safely move vehicles throughout the yard and facility. Transport vehicles to and from outside vendors as needed. Assist with vehicle staging and fleet organization to support daily operations. QualificationsRequired Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify common vehicle issues. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. Comfortable using mobile devices, software platforms, and digital inspection tools. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple vehicles simultaneously. Preferred Experience in fleet, trucking, rental, automotive, dealership, or transportation environments. DOT inspection experience or certification. Experience with vehicle inspection software and reporting systems. Experience operating medium-duty or commercial vehicles. Why Join Us?
