Job Description

Inspector Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for a full-time Inspector at the Cox Creek Dredged Material Containment Facility located near Curtis Bay, Maryland. This position is responsible for performing field inspections of activities conducted by MES, contractors, and clients to ensure compliance with operational and environmental requirements.

Primary responsibilities include monitoring and operating spillways, conducting facility inspections, preparing reports, and performing routine facility maintenance. Training will be provided.

This position may require shift work, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays during certain operational periods. Overtime may be required. Travel and temporary work assignments at other MES facilities within the Baltimore metropolitan area may also be required.
Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from a standard high school or GED and one year of general work experience.
Note:
Applicants may substitute 2 years of related education beyond HS level for required work experience. Other requirements include the ability to pass a standard physical examination, the ability to lift 50 pounds, and possession of a valid driver's license with less than 5 points. This position will be open until filled. This position is eligible for on-spot, contingent offers. Candidates who apply after an on-spot offer has been extended (including internal candidates) will not be considered unless the candidate who receives the on-spot, contingent offer does not complete the process to become an MES employee. Any offer of employment will be contingent upon successfully completing required pre-employment screens, to include full background check, drug & alcohol screening, and position appropriate physical.
