Resident Engineer Artheon is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Resident Engineer to join our team in Berlin, NJ. The Resident Engineer serves as the chief on-site authority for highway, bridge, and infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include managing field inspection teams, enforcing contract plans and specifications, overseeing project safety and traffic control, and handling daily contract administration. Contract Enforcement:
Ensures the contractor executes the project strictly in accordance with client specifications, plans, and contract documents. •
Inspection Supervision:
Manages and directs the on-site construction inspection staff, assigning daily duties and monitoring field performance. •
Safety & Traffic:
Monitors work zone safety, Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) compliance, and adnce to environmental and OSHA regulations. •
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical information to clients and team members effectively. Contract & Document Administration •
Project Documentation:
Reviews and verifies construction quantities, monitors contractor payrolls, and maintains logs for daily inspection reports, RFIs, and submittals. •
Contract Compliance:
Ensures contractors meet Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) workforce and training goals by reviewing and forwarding required forms. •
Cost Tracking:
Manages the change order process, evaluates claims, and processes monthly payment estimates. •
Stakeholder Coordination:
Acts as the liaison between the agency, design teams, contractors, utility companies, and the public.
