Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a qualified and experienced Tank Inspector to join our team in Keyport, NJ. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections, necessary tests, detailed evaluations of cargo tank cargo tank trailers" or "tanker trailers to ensure strict compliance with federal and state regulations, The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and welding, particularly with trailers and related equipment. This role requires a hands-on approach to diagnosing and repairing various mechanical issues, ensuring that all trailers are safe and operational for our customers. The Trailer Mechanic will work closely with team members to provide exceptional service and maintain high standards of quality. Duties This role requires a hands-on approach to diagnosing and repairing various mechanical issues, ensuring that all trailers are safe and operational for our customers. Perform comprehensive internal and external inspections and tests on cargo tank cargo tank trailers" or "tanker trailers. (e.g., pressure tests, thickness testing, visual inspections) in accordance with
FMSCA HM-183/49 CFR
requirements. Evaluate tank integrity , assess structural conditions, and analyze corrosion levels. Prepare detailed inspection reports and technical documentation, clearly noting findings and recommendations. Ensure strict compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies, including the Department of Transportation (DOT) and adherence to company safety Protocols. Develop and repair or replace recommendations based on inspection results. Maintain accurate, organized inspection records and ensure all personal certifications are current. Qualifications E xperience in tank inspection, Strong working knowledge of safety and inspection regulations pertinent to cargo tank trailers" or "tanker trailers., including 49 CFR Parts 170-180 (DOT) . D iligence for identifying defects and strong documentation/report-writing skills. Background in mechanical repair and welding, particularly with trailers and related equipment
