TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM OPERATOR - 90234 JOB INFORMATION
The Traffic Management Center Operator (Automated Transportation System Operator) is a permanent, full-time position with the Department of Transportation. The position is located in Birmingham. This position is responsible for work in a Traffic Management Center (TMC) control room monitoring various components of an Automated Transportation System (ATS) and dispatching appropriate response personnel to incidents within the Birmingham coverage area.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year of experience monitoring and/or responding to routine or emergency situations, communicating with emergency or other appropriate personnel, dispatching, and operating electronic equipment such as surveillance systems and/or communication equipment.
EXAMINATION
Open-Competitive to all applicants. An Evaluation of Training and Experience as shown on the application will comprise 100% of the final score for the open-competitive register.
