Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a responsible and safety-oriented Traffic Control Technician to direct traffic flow using flags and paddles and to set up, manage, and remove traffic control devices at construction zones, road work sites, and other locations. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the safety of workers, pedestrians, and motorists.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and control traffic flow using stop/slow paddles or hand signals.
  • Safely drive a company truck or flatbed to transport barricades, cones, signs, and other traffic control equipment to and from job sites.
  • Maintain constant awareness of surroundings to ensure safety for self and others.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and the public.
  • Load and unload traffic control equipment from company vehicles.
  • Depending on experience, may set up and remote temporary traffic control zones according to traffic control plans (TCPs) and applicable standards (eg. MUTCD).
  • Perform daily vehicle and equipment inspections.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Work in varying weather conditions and environments.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in traffic control, flagging, and construction labor.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL a plus). Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Dependability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with MUTCD guidelines and state/local traffic laws.
  • ATSSA Traffic Control Technician or Supervisor Certification.
