Senior Port Dispatcher Impact Transportation is looking for an experienced Port Dispatcher / Operations Coordinator to join our Los Angeles/Long Beach operation. This is an opportunity for someone who knows the drayage industry, understands the Port environment, and can help us grow and develop our local fleet. We're looking for someone who is more than just a dispatcher — someone who understands the business, knows how to keep drivers moving, communicates well with customers, and can recruit and grow our driver base as the operation expands.

What You'll Do:

Coordinate daily drayage operations in the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach Dispatch and manage drivers while monitoring loads, appointments, terminals, and delivery schedules Help recruit and grow our fleet of qualified drivers Develop relationships within the trucking and drayage industry to support driver and fleet growth Communicate with drivers, customers, terminals, brokers, and internal operations Build strong working relationships with drivers and customers Help identify opportunities to improve utilization, service, and overall fleet performance Assist with growing and developing our local customer base and operations Troubleshoot delays, missed appointments, equipment issues, and other day-to-day challenges Monitor driver performance, productivity, and compliance Work closely with management to identify opportunities for additional business and operational growth Maintain accurate records and keep customers updated throughout the transportation process Help develop efficient processes as our Los Angeles/Long Beach operation continues to grow

What We're Looking For:

5+ years of experience in port drayage, trucking, dispatch, or transportation operations Strong knowledge of the Los Angeles/Long Beach port environment Existing knowledge of local terminals, appointment systems, and port operations Established relationships within the trucking/drayage industry and the ability to help attract qualified drivers is strongly preferred Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with drivers and customers Comfortable working independently and making decisions in a fast-paced environment Strong understanding of driver utilization, scheduling, and transportation costs Experience working with owner-operators Customer service and business development experience is a plus Experience with Trinium software is a plus
