Duties Help- Plan, organize, and direct the activities of civilian Air Traffic Control Specialists, ensuring th the Eglin Radar Control Facility (ERCF) complies with legal and regulory requirements and meets customer needs.
- Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
- Represent the Eglin Radar Control Facility (ERCF) with a variety of installion and functional area organizions.
- Direct aircraft movement.
- Opere communicion and display equipment and provide emergency assistance to aircraft.

Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you required to serve a 1-year probionary period OR 2-year trial period. Must possess current and valid FAA/ATC specialist certificion and maintain. This is a drug testing designed position. The employee is subject to random drug testing. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty, i.e., Surdays, Sundays, holidays, etc. May be required roting shifts and overtime. May be required to respond to short notice recall to support unscheduled emergency air traffic and/or contingencies/exercises to support the mission. Must complete all training requirements within facility prescribed time limits to obtain and maintain a full facility ring in facility of assignment. This position is covered as an Air Traffic Controller under 5 USC 2109. The incumbent of this position must have the ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time while controlling aircraft in a dimly lit IFR room. The incumbent must have the ability to meet and maintain on a continuing basis, the physical, mental and medical standards for ATC duties as specified by the OPM qualificion standard for GS-2152. Experience controlling traffic with theDAAS/STARS
automion equipment is highly desirable. The position may require the employee to work under adverse environmental conditions. Must complete all training requirements within facility prescribed time limits to obtain and maintain a full facility ring in facility of assignment. - A minimum of 10 years air traffic control radar experience is highly desired.
- Experience in the air traffic control career field within the last 3 years is highly desired.
- Previous experience the Eglin Radar Control Facility (ERCF) within the last 10 years is highly desired.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in an air traffic control environment is highly desired.
- Experience opering in complex or high-density airspace, including special use airspace or mission driven operions, is highly desired. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Applicants must have least one (1) year, or will have one year within 120 days of closing of this announcement, the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay system. Specialized experience is issuing control instructions and advice to pilots in the vicinity of airports to assure proper separion of aircraft and to expedite their safe and efficient movement.This specializion also requires:
Ability to act decisively under stressful situions and to maintain alertness over sustained periods of pressure; Skill to coordine plans and actions with pilots and other controllers; and Judgment to select and take the safest and most effective course of action from among several available choices.NOTE:

Knowledge of weher phenomena and localized efforts. 5. Ability to make rapid and precise judgments in a real-time work situion, remain calm under conditions th are stressful, coordine many different processes once, adjust rapidly to changes in the traffic ptern and tempo or work activity.PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE
